2. Kodaikanal - Princess of Hill Station

Kodaikanal Hill Station Kodaikanal is a popular hill station in Tamil Nadu. Situated at an altitude of 2100 meters above sea level and 120 Kms from the bustling city of Madurai, Kodaikanal is a perfect destination for a calm and solitary vacations. The Kodaikanal Lake, Bryant Park, Coaker’s Walk, Guna Caves, Pillar Rocks, Silver Cascade, Dolphin’s Nose and Kurinji Andavar Murugan temple are the popular attractions.

In fact Coonoor is located at an altitude of 1800 m. This is probably the best hill station in the state for trekking. Sim’s park, Dolphin’s Nose Viewpoint, Doorg ruins, Law’s falls are some of the more popular attractions.

Tamil Nadu Climate

Tamil Nadu has a tropical climate with no wild swing between summer and winter temperature. April and May are the hottest months with the mercury often soaring above the 40 ºC mark. Coastal regions also get uncomfortably warm and humid during these months but the nights are usually cool, thanks to the sea breeze that sets in during the afternoons. Summer temperatures are quite equable at the foothills of the ghats.
